Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
BingeYogi(“we”, “us”) is a TV show and movie tracking service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights over your data. It covers the BingeYogi website and our mobile apps (together, the “Service”). The data controller is LogicYogi, a Canadian studio (logicyogi.com). Questions or requests: contactlogicyogi@gmail.com.
Not affiliated with TV Time. BingeYogi is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TV Time, TVShow Time, or Whip Media.
BingeYogi is free. There are no ads, and we do not sell your personal data. A paid Founding Supporter option exists, but it is entirely optional and gates no core tracking features.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address and, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, the account details that provider shares with us, such as your name, email address, and profile picture where available. We do not ask for or store your date of birth.
- Profile & activity: the shows and movies you track, your watch history, ratings, reactions, favorites, custom lists, favorite-character votes, following, and the settings you create in BingeYogi.
- Content you post: comments, group topics and replies you write, and (if you choose to add them) photos you upload and GIFs you pick (via GIPHY) to attach to a comment, plus a profile picture and cover image if you set them. Uploaded images are stored with our storage provider, Cloudflare R2.
- Community safety: accounts and content you block or report, your selected report reason, and the status of a moderation review.
- Imported data: if you upload a data export from another service (e.g. your own TV Time export), we process it to recreate your library.
- Payment information: if you become a Founding Supporter on the website, payment is handled by Stripe; inside the iOS app, payment is handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. The Android app does not currently offer an in-app supporter purchase. Your full card details are never stored by us. We keep the limited purchase and transaction records needed to verify the purchase, apply supporter benefits, restore access, and handle refunds or subscription changes.
- Push notifications & device: if you enable episode alerts in the mobile app, we store a push notification token and your device platform (e.g. Android/iOS) so we can deliver the alerts you asked for. You can turn these off at any time.
- Technical: basic logs and device/usage data needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide the service: store and sync your library, watch history, and stats.
- To import your data when you ask us to.
- To process Founding Supporter payments and apply your supporter benefits.
- To send episode alerts and other notifications you have opted into.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse.
- To filter a narrow set of high-severity phrases before publication and review user reports, enforce blocks, and moderate community content.
- To contact you about the service (e.g. launch and account emails).
Automated episode alerts
If you opt in to episode alerts, an automated job runs nightly (around 13:00 UTC) to check for newly aired or upcoming episodes of the shows you follow and send push notifications to the devices where you enabled them. This runs only for users who have opted in, and you can disable it at any time in the app.
We do not sell your data
BingeYogi is a free, ad-free product supported by optional Founding Supporter payments. We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Legal bases (GDPR)
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service and, for supporters, taking payment and applying benefits), on the basis of your consent (e.g. importing your data, enabling episode alerts, marketing emails), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase (United States): database and authentication.
- Cloudflare R2 (United States): storage for images you upload (comment photos, profile picture, cover image).
- Vercel (United States): website and app-backend hosting.
- Stripe (United States): payment processing for Founding Supporter purchases made on the website.
- Apple (United States and other regions): Apple sign-in and iOS In-App Purchase processing.
- GIPHY (United States): GIF search and delivery. When you search for a GIF, your search text is sent to GIPHY; a GIF you post to a comment is served to viewers directly from GIPHY.
- Google: only if you choose Google sign-in (OAuth).
- PostHog (United States): product analytics and session replay. Helps us see which parts of BingeYogi people use, and where things go wrong, particularly whether importing a library from another service succeeded or failed. See PostHog’s privacy policy.
We also retrieve show and movie information and artwork from third-party metadata sources. We fetch this reference data by title/identifier and do not share your personal data with them:
- TheTVDB: Metadata and artwork provided by TheTVDB. Please consider adding missing information or subscribing.
- OMDb / IMDb: additional metadata and ratings are provided by OMDb, which sources data from IMDb.
International data transfers
LogicYogiis based in Canada, and several of our processors (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Apple, Google, PostHog) are located in the United States. This means your data may be transferred to and processed outside your country, including in the US. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the providers’ own transfer frameworks.
Data retention, export & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can export a copy of your data at any time from Settings → Export my data, which downloads a machine-readable JSON file of your account, including your profile, library and watch activity, comments and community activity, social relationships, reports, notification/device records, and purchase records. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your settings or by emailing contactlogicyogi@gmail.com. We remove it promptly, except where we must retain limited records for the purposes and periods below.
- Stripe payment/accounting records: processor transaction, customer or subscription identifiers, plan, amount/currency, status, and dates may be kept for the applicable tax, accounting, refund, dispute, fraud-prevention, or other legal period. The local payment email and live account link are removed when the account is detached unless law requires otherwise; Stripe applies its own retention policy to records it controls.
- Apple lifetime-purchase records: transaction and original-transaction IDs, product, environment, dates, active or revoked state, one-way transaction/payload hashes, the signed pseudonymous app-account token, and limited App Store server-notification receipts (such as notification UUID, type, and signed date) may be kept while BingeYogi supports restoration of the non-consumable purchase. After that, they are kept only as needed for refunds, anti-replay/fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations. The live BingeYogi account link is removed on deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, export, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these, contact contactlogicyogi@gmail.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of that information, and to request correction of inaccurate information. You also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months. To make a request, email contactlogicyogi@gmail.com; we will verify your request via your account email before acting on it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Row-level security protects private account data; only the profile fields and community content intended for other signed-in users are shared according to your visibility, follow, report, and block settings. Server secrets are not exposed to your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Analytics & session replay
We use PostHog to understand how BingeYogi is actually used, so we can fix what is broken. This covers pages visited, in-app actions such as starting or finishing a library import, general interactions like clicks and scrolling, and basic device and browser information. Where you are signed in, these are linked to your account so we can tell whether a problem affected one person or everyone.
PostHog also records session replays: a reconstruction of what happened in your browser window during a visit. We use these to diagnose failures (most often an import that did not work) rather than to watch individuals. Text you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser, and passwords are never captured. Replays are retained for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
We do not use advertising networks, ad targeting, or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell your data. Session replay is not enabled in the BingeYogi mobile apps.
If you would rather not be included, enable your browser’s “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” setting, or email us at contactlogicyogi@gmail.com and we will exclude your account and delete any replays we hold for you.
Cookies & local storage
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings, plus a first-party analytics cookie set by PostHog (see above) that lets us recognise a returning visit without identifying you by name. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you make a Founding Supporter purchase through Stripe Checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud, governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. Apple processes iOS In-App Purchases under Apple’s privacy policy.
Children
BingeYogi is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not ask for or store dates of birth. If you believe a child under 13 provided us personal data, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you.
